The Future Homes Hub has created the carbon calculator to simplify carbon calculations for low and medium-rise buildings.
It helps developers and designers to quickly and easily calculate carbon emissions at all stages of a residential building’s lifecycle, accelerating the industry’s progress towards Net Zero.
About the tool
The tool incorporates guidelines from the Future Homes Hub Whole Life Carbon Conventions for New Homes (link), which ensures a consistent approach tailored to the new homes sector.
It enables whole-life carbon to be compared between different design options for individual dwellings and informs early-stage decision making. You will need to enter project information, including high-level building geometry inputs and select pre-defined build-ups for one or more elements.
