Biodiversity Unit Finder Map

The Biodiversity Unit Finder is to help homebuilders and other developers connect with landowners, land managers and others developing and selling biodiversity units under Biodiversity Net Gain. It is a free to use service giving direct access to the homebuilding sector.

The status of the opportunities covers landholders that:

  • have Biodiversity Units that they would like to sell
  • have plans to deliver a project on their land that has been accredited for the Biodiversity Units it will produce
  • have plans to deliver a Biodiversity Gain project on their land

Call to landholders and unit providers, please share your information here to be included on the map:

Please do not forget to include the postcode of your project, as well as the types of habitat.

Using the map

Key

  • Click on the icons in the map to see more details about specific opportunities, including a link to contact the landholder related to that opportunity. 
  • There are a few ways you can search the map.
  • You can select Status and/or Habitat Type to only show markers that are not relevant to you.  The Habitat Type is displayed on the map using the following icons. 
  • If you have any questions then please contact the Future Homes Hub team.
  • You can also use the search bar to look for Local Planning AuthoritiesNational Character Areas or other key words.  Any opportunities that meet your search criteria will be displayed in the list to the left of the map.
  • For updates, please send us an email and include the ID number of your site along with the relevant updates listed.
  • IMPORTANT: The map is based on input provided by landholders, and the Future Homes Hub has not verified the accuracy of any of this information.  The locations in the map are approximate only.
